A Long History

Dubbo Veterinary Hospital is a mixed veterinary hospital that has been helping the people of Dubbo and the surrounding areas look after their pets and livestock for over 60 years.

Founded in the 1950’s by Dr. Allan Larsen, Dubbo Veterinary Hospital has been an integral part of the Dubbo community and Central West New South Wales since that time.

In 1981, shortly after relocating to the purpose built Macquarie Street hospital, Dr. Gordon Bentley and Dr. Greg McCann took over the reins, and a new service Macquarie Artificial Breeders was established. Macquarie Artificial Breeders became a pioneer in delivering reproductive technologies particularly to the sheep industry.

In 2010 Dr. Mark Carter took over the roles of principle of both Dubbo Veterinary Hospital and Macquarie Artificial Breeders .

Dubbo Veterinary Hospital and Macquarie Artificial Breeders supports a range of community events in Dubbo including the Dubbo Show Society, Dubbo Greyhound Club, Working Dog trials, various stud cattle and sheep shows and sales, rehoming of stray animals from the Dubbo City Shelter, RSPCA as well as other community events.
